What is Holistic Nutrition?
In short, Holistic Nutrition is the study of how we interact with food and vice versa. It is ideal as a proactive, preventative measure against illness or dis-ease, encouraging homeostasis and highly individualized optimal health. However, it is invaluable for any current or chronic illness, injury or dis-ease, as the focus is to identify the root of any concern or imbalance and understand it’s presence. From this understanding, Holistic Nutrition strives to address all diet, supplemental and habitual lifestyle related triggers and uses food and eating habits as a way to support and encourage the body and mind towards a state of health and happiness.
One can expect an intimate health examination in terms of mental state, environment, work-life balance and so on. Not only is the HN focus on whole-food, health-conscious choices, but all other factors that can affect our relationship with food and any health concerns we may be having.
You will work together with a Holistic Nutritionist to design a plan with small, practical action steps towards your goal and continue to revise what worked, what didn’t, where support is needed and so on. The ultimate goal is to educate and empower each client into taking responsibility for their health while making this lifestyle fun, easy and accessible.
Because it is the raw materials of food that build up our bodies, Nutrition should be considered through any issues one may be experiencing. It is a powerful modality that can be explored individually or in conjunction with other health professions.
Some examples of past Holistic Nutrition clients include those experiencing:
-Low energy, burn out, or fatigue
-Digestive issues (bloating, gas, pains etc)
-Gut issues (constipation, diarrhoea, yeast etc)
-Skin imbalances (acne, eczema, rosacea etc)
-Meal prep and planning
-Inflammation (any condition ending it ‘itis!)
