Zhi Qin (David) Lui
Zhi Qin (David) grew up in a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) family. His father Gansun Liu was one of the best traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in their home town. David learnt about many herbs and acupuncture techniques from his father. One thing impressed him most is that he witnessed his father used acupuncture help many patients. Some of them have tried various treatments in the hospitals and were told that the problems could not be solved before they came to acupuncture.
David immigrated to Canada with his family in 2001 and worked in different areas of business. However, he discovered his passion in traditional Chinese medicine and started his formal studies at Oshio College of Acupuncture & Herbology in 2012. In 2014, his wife was expecting for their second son. A C-section surgery was proposed by the doctor because the baby was still in breech position at the end of the 38th week. David used the acupuncture knowledge, helping the baby enter the right position and making a natural delivery possible. This is a positive experience for David to see the value of his new career and I believe his knowledge can help others.
David became a registered acupuncturist in March, 2016.
After over 600 hours of practice at school clinics in Victoria and 4 months practice in Tonggu hospital in China, he started his own clinic named after his father in July 2016. During these period, David helped patients for their chronic and acute pain, such as stiff neck, frozen shoulder, sciatica, knee pain, and also treated constipation, depression, insomnia and other mental issues. One example is that he helped a senior with severe chronical knee pain. After 2 treatments, she said ‘ I can running now without my crutch’.
Now David’s focus is to use acupuncture to enhance the self-healing abilities and maintain natural balance in the body.
David looks forward to helping you
